About Self-Help
Founded in 1980, Self-Help is a North Carolina-based nonprofit organization. The mission of Self-Help is to create and protect ownership and economic opportunity through four key community development pursuits including the management and operation of full service credit union branches, community development lending that focuses on providing mortgage and small business loans, affordable housing development and downtown revitalization projects, and critical research to advance fair and responsible lending practices, nationwide.
